Underground Structures of the Cold War, The World Below

B1725

The first question on picking up this well researched book is; why has no one addressed this subject before? The Cold War was a conflict every bit as significant as any war fought before. In parts of the world it was a very hot war as East and West attempted to use conflict to gain advantage without escalating to a major nuclear exchange. A fascinating and absorbing book

The Nazis’ Nuremberg Rallies

B1726

This is a timely publication that explains how the Nazi Party came to power and held that power until the Allies defeated Germany and occupied the German homeland. As Europe teeters on an uncertain future, and extreme Parties begin to win elections in an environment that holds many chilling similarities to the Great Depression which helped Hitler to power it is important to understand the nature and oxygen of extreme politics.

Polar Ship Operations, A Practical Guide

B1716

The combination of a specialist maritime publisher and an experienced ice captain should be expected to produce a very readable and informative review of polar navigation and the reader will not be disappointed. Although the target audience may be professional seamen, the subject of ice navigation and climate change will appeal to a much wider readership, particularly as the author has made a good job of describing the topics in language that is widely understandable outside the prime target audience.

Greek Elections: nothing matters much and very little matters at all* by John Faraclas

The European Union and the world at large are faced with oxymoron dilemmas following the French election, and the inconclusive Greek one on the course and state of events in Greece, affecting them too to a large extend! Meantime the local elections in UK produced another headache for the coalition, Putin was sworn in and the US election is not too far away… Many more elections are due to come which might create a stalemate, the world stage is very crowdy, the problems – due to political and unethical stubbornness almost unsolvable and wonder where is Deus ex machina** to give an end to our troubles as they are not far away, to paraphrase the Beatles classic hit “Yesterday”!

This is our latest on Politics and Governent and read, study same carefully: http://www.allaboutshipping.co.uk/2012/05/07/greek-elections/

In this image created using data from the US Landsat-7 and Canadian Radarsat-2 missions, the dark blue represents the water extent on 5 June 2000, while the lighter blue shows water extent on 3 July 2010 in Romania’s Galati/Braila region.
