Commenting on new Network Rail figures, which reveal that ‘right-time performance’ – the proportion of trains arriving within 59 seconds of the scheduled arrival time – was only 57.1% between 11 November and 8 December 2012, and 69.2% in the year to 8 December 2012, Corin Taylor, Senior Economic Adviser at the Institute of Directors said:
“Yet again Network Rail have failed to deliver a good service for passengers who pay large amounts for their service. Business relies on prompt trains to get staff to work and to meetings on time. It is frustrating for those working hard to get the economy growing to be let down by a key connecting service.”

CHICAGO, Dec. 18, 2012 — Boeing Chairman, President & CEO Jim McNerney issued the following statement today:
The people of Boeing are deeply saddened to hear of Sen. Inouye’s passing. As a Medal of Honor recipient, wounded veteran, and strong guardian of national defense in Congress, he was a real American hero, and he leaves a legacy of service, sacrifice and sense of duty that defined his extraordinary leadership. For almost 50 years in the Senate, he was an outstanding advocate not only for his constituents but also for the needs of the entire country, and especially the men and women in the military, for whom he cared deeply. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this time of loss.

Health & Safety Regulations to be applied during Christmas activities
Dashing through the snow
In a one horse open sleigh
O’er the fields we go
Laughing all the way
A risk assessment must be submitted before an open sleigh is considered safe for members of the public to travel on. The risk assessment must also consider whether it is appropriate to use only one horse for such a venture, particularly if passengers are of larger proportions. Please note, permission must be gained from landowners before entering their fields. To avoid offending those not participating in celebrations, we would request that laughter is moderate only and not loud enough to be considered a noise nuisance.
Over the last week we have been highlighting various solutions on our website in what we are calling our 12 Days of Solutions. Many of these solutions have been proposed by other organizations and legislators, but the point is that there are several ideas out there that would push us in the right direction. Washington can’t seem to get past this idea that they have to continue taking more money from the people to compensate for their irresponsibility.
