Northern Ireland proves the sticking point in Brexit Negotiations.

October has been dubbed as the ‘moment of truth’ regarding the Brexit negotiations, and events are certainly hotting up. The last few weeks of talks on Brexit have, however, been dominated almost entirely by one topic: Northern Ireland, and what happens to it post-Brexit. Apparent solutions and concessions on both the side of the UK Government, and the EU, have seen the final stretch of the Brexit talks yo-yo in a sort of will-they, won’t-they scenario. From Michel Barnier suggesting a Brexit deal could have been possible by Wednesday this week, to then stating key issues had ‘not been resolved’ before Wednesday’s Summit, it is unfortunately the case that, in the end, they haven’t.
