RINO Republicans Still Trying to Pass Amnesty

Last week we informed you that House Republican Leadership was holding a special two-hour Republican Conference meeting to discuss immigration reform. As you’ll recall, 22 Republicans signed onto a discharge petition to try to force a vote on DACA. The conference meeting was an attempt to head off the discharge petition that would force a vote on four separate immigration reform bills under a so-called “Queen of the Hill” rule, where the bill that passes with the most votes – as long as it’s got at least majority support – is the bill that is considered to have passed.

After that meeting, we’re even more concerned that moderate Republicans are going to force a vote to pass some sort of amnesty with a path to citizenship. After hearing from so many of you, we know that most of you never imagined we’d be having to fight this fight again after the election of November of 2016.

But these moderate Republicans in Washington have clearly forgotten the issues of that election.

Below is the contact information for the Republican Members of Congress who signed the discharge petition to force a vote on amnesty. They need to hear from you today and as often as you can contact them over the coming weeks to remind them that we didn’t put them in power to grant amnesty to people who broke our laws to come here. Then, contact your own member and tell them we want border security and no amnesty. Call AND Tweet!

We elected them to build a wall, to secure the southern border, to enforce the immigration laws already on the books, and to put the American people first. Their inaction is prompting more and more people to enter our country illegally with the hope that they too will be granted amnesty and be allowed to stay. Their inaction is allowing opioids to continue to flow across the border and contributing to the major crisis we are having in our country right now. It’s time for Congress to listen to the American people and do what they said they would do. Secure the border now!

In liberty,
Jenny Beth Martin
