Riots in Russia follow a stolen election on Sunday
Is Russia catching European unrest, or is it leading what is yet to come in France and Germany?
It is widely held that the Sunday elections were seriously rigged by Putin and Russia First resulting in a wave of protest on Russian streets.
The longer term implication is that Putin may not win the Presidential election next year and already has a greatly reduced majority in the Duma.
Unrest demonstrates that even in Russia, voters do not like to be taken for a ride and may nor bode well for Merkel and Sarkozy when they face their electors next year.
The result is that Europe and Russia may be very different political landscapes in 2012.
