Thank you for your generosity and other things you need to know

As we wrap up the week, the Senate is moving toward a final vote on a tax reform package that will provide American families with badly-needed tax relief. A vote on final passage is expected as soon as Friday evening. Once the Senate has passed their version of tax reform, the Senate and the House will have to go to a conference to reconcile the differences between the two bills. Once the conference is finished, both the House and Senate will have to each vote on a conference report in order to send a final bill to President Trump’s desk to be signed into law.

Right now, it looks like the Senate bill will include a provision repealing the individual mandate in ObamaCare, which is an important first step toward our goal of FULL repeal of ObamaCare so the American people can have more freedom and choice in selecting a health care plan. We will be watching both chambers as the process continues to move forward and will do everything we can to help ensure the final tax reform package meets President Trump’s framework and ensures our tax system will be flatter, fairer and simpler.

We thank everyone who has joined our Tax Reform Coalition with FreedomWorks to help President Trump pass this historic tax reform bill and if you haven’t joined the coalition yet, it’s not too late! You can join our tax reform coalition by visiting www.taxreformcoalition.com – we are close to getting this done!

In her column for The Hill this week, Jenny Beth wrote about the urgent need for Congress to make public the names of any Members of Congress who used taxpayer funds to settle claims of sexual misconduct. She writes, “Capitol Hill has a sexual misconduct problem, yes, that’s undoubtedly true. But Congress’ deeper, systemic problem, is that it has deliberately walked away from one of our nation’s founding principles – accountability… Americans, who have unknowingly paid the bill for countless sexual harassment settlements, have a right to know which offices have used taxpayer funds to cover up misconduct, which Members of Congress have benefitted from the ‘shush fund,’ and which Members have found their own devious ways to cover up scandals.” Taxpayers have a right to know if their tax dollars are being spent to cover up, allegations of sexual misconduct and we will continue to push Congress to come clean with the American people about taxpayer-funded sexual misconduct cover ups!

This week, we asked patriots to help us raise money on Giving Tuesday to help Tea Party Patriots Foundation train future conservative activists who will join us in the fight for a country with more personal and economic freedom and a debt-free future for our children and grandchildren. Thanks to the generosity of patriots across the country and the Taube Family Foundation, who agreed to match every donation made on Giving Tuesday, we were able to make significant progress toward our goal. If you made a donation Tuesday, thank you so much for your generosity during the holiday season. If you haven’t made a donation yet, but would like to help us train future conservative activists, please visit the foundation site now!

Jenny Beth’s Journal: GOP faces challenges with a weak leadership this holiday season
The GOP needs to strategize on how to deal with its leadership yielding to Democrats’ demands. If the omnibus spending package comes to President Trump’s desk with more items favorable to Democrats, then the GOP has failed to achieve its 2017 goal….
