The sorry state of our capital was laid bare once again this week after shocking footage of an incident at Speakers’ Corner went viral.
|39-year-old Christian preacher Hatun Tash, a convert from Islam, was brutally attacked by an armed thug in a long dark coat at the famous London spot, which is renowned worldwide as a venue for free speech and open debate.
The man attacked the woman, who was wearing a defiant Charlie Hebdo T-shirt, before being chased off by members of the public.
She is seen in a subsequent clip with blood dripping down the side of her head after being slashed across the face by the lunatic.
“In my early days, Speakers’ Corner was a much calmer place. Now it is not and I am regularly attacked by a Muslim mob” said brave Ms Tash following the incident.
“We don’t live in Pakistan, we don’t live in Saudi Arabia. I am Christian and by default, I believe that Muhammad is a false prophet. I should be allowed to say that in the UK.”
What has it come to when a site as well known and beloved as Speakers’ Corner becomes a scene of what appears to be religiously motivated violence?
Just like we were not afraid to shy away from the ongoing illegal immigration crisis going on in the English Channel last week.
When we wrote to you last, numbers were surging and we had no choice but to speak out about it. We backed Boris Johnson and his team to get Brexit done and take back control of our borders but, when it comes to illegal immigration, they have dropped the ball.
This week saw further interventions from Brexit icon Nigel Farage and Leave.EU chairman Arron Banks, who refused to be cowed by mainstream media pressure and emotional blackmailing about the work of the RNLI.
The RNLI does incredible work saving lives at sea and across our coastline in dangerous conditions, for which they should be rightly celebrated, but it does have to be asked how we’ve reached a position where, to paraphrase Nigel, they are forced to do the work of the UK’s Border Force.
“Why not rescue and return to France?” asked Leave.EU chairman Arron Banks, injecting a bit of sanity amid mainstream media hysterics.
“It’s common sense that if RNLI and others facilitate safe passage across the channel, more will come in increasing numbers. Why not rescue and return to France? The only policy that would work is the Australian policy of zero tolerance.”
Indeed that’s exactly what Nigel is advocating too, calling on the government to draft in former Aussie PM Tony Abbott to get the job done. With our own politicians seemingly unable to get a handle on the situation, we think it sounds like a bloody good idea…
|Even when the mainstream media is silent about violent attacks on free speech and Christian preaching, or when they join forces to emotionally blackmail the country into backing illegal immigration, we’ll stand firm and speak out for common sense.
