|This week has seen more Brexit turbulence. Firstly, Get Britain Out would like to condemn Jeremy Corbyn for his comments towards Prime Minister, Theresa May, and then repeatedly denying it. Whatever his opinion of the PM and her efforts in office, those comments are totally unacceptable in our society. In Brexit, Theresa May has faced increasing clamours for a Second Referendum and thereby the betrayal of the largest democratic exercise this country has ever undertaken. The Grinch may have stolen Christmas, but the Remainers will not steal Brexit.
The Home Secretary, Sajid Javid, brought his Immigration Bill before Parliament this week in a move which seeks to refocus Britain’s immigration policy into a skills-based system. There’s still lots to tinker with, and arguments within Cabinet, but hopefully it will be sorted out in the New Year. It will end the Free Movement of people from the EU and allow the UK to regain control of its borders.
On Thursday, the Irish government published its plan for the No Deal scenario. It mirrors efforts made by the French and Belgians. Perhaps EU nations are beginning to realise, ‘No Deal’ is very much on the table. During an interview on Sky News, Former Chancellor, Lord Lamont dismissed much of the ‘Project Fear’ surrounding No Deal. He quoted the Head of the WTO, Roberto Azevêdo of Brazil, as saying: “Britain taking the No Deal scenario need not cause disruption”. British business is not stupid! They have been preparing for this- and many already trade with the rest of the world. In short, we are ready!
Parliament has disbanded for the Festive break and will resume on the 7th January. Theresa May’s tactic is to send the MP’s back to their constituencies to hear the views of their supporters. This means YOU! It is therefore more crucial than ever for you to try and meet your MPs over the holidays and tell them exactly what you think they need to do about Brexit. You can also write and urge them to vote against May’s Deal on January 15th to ensure we get the Brexit we deserve and voted for. Try and drop them a letter in their constituency office – or if not, e-mail them. None of us should be scared of No Deal. Our New Year’s resolution must be to ensure we are a ‘Bold Brexit Britain’. 2019 WILL BE BREXIT YEAR!
Over the last year, we have experienced one of the most turbulent times in living memory. Brexit is a political event not equalled since the Second World War. We are part of History and by supporting Brexit and Get Britain Out – and writing to your MPs – YOU ARE PLAYING A PART IN SHAPING HISTORY.
2018 has been a highly successful year for Get Britain Out. You helped to opposed May’s ‘Chequers Plan’ and exposed many of its faults. We began a petition which gained over 50,000 of your signatures and we delivered it to the steps of No.10 Downing Street. This would not have been possible without your immense help and support. Theresa May heard your concerns, but ignored them. We must keep up the pressure on her and on her MPs – all those who seek to deviate from delivering on the result of the 2016 Referendum.
Our Research team has published articles on a comprehensive array of Brexit subjects, from Foreign Relations to Immigration; from No Deal opportunities to Technological Solutions; and on Border Trade. You can find our best articles here. On our social media platforms, we have continued to go from strength to strength. Our following has increased and we are reaching an ever-wider audience with the latest EU News and Research. We are working with more organizations, and more grass roots campaigns, and this is allowing us to give you better quality and quantity Brexit news and updates. You might be content to simply receive these e-Bulletins, but if you want more daily updates, please follow us on both Facebook and Twitter.
Christmas is the time for giving. We all wish Theresa May and the EU would give us a deal which gives us full and unfettered control of the UK borders, monies and laws. There are many within the European Research Group and beyond who would love to give the Nation a new Prime Minister.
This Christmas we ask you to give two gifts. Firstly, forward this e-Bulletin to more Brexiteers in your life, and improve their 2019 with all the Brexit news and updates they could ever want. It’s free, lasts the year, and will bring about a new and prosperous future for the United Kingdom. It will definitely be the best gift of 2018!
Secondly, we ask you write to or visit your MP. Give them the gift of an easy decision – to vote against Mrs May’s Brexit deal – unless she gets some serious concessions from the EU. So please make your voice heard! No Deal is not to be afraid of. We can trade with the world on World Trade Organisation rules as we do at the moment – and there is nothing to be afraid of.
It remains for the team at Get Britain Out to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas. May all your homes be filled with joy and laughter this festive period and may the New Year bring you happiness, good fortune and a comprehensive exit from the European Union on March 29th next year.
Finally, and again, once you have enjoyed your Christmas festivities, we ask you to use the long parliamentary break to reignite the passion which saw us successful when we voted Leave in the EU Referendum in June 2016.
Please try and meet your MP in your constituency and explain how strongly you feel about Brexit – even if they betrayed their Party Manifesto when you voted them in in the General Election. It is YOUR VOICE which can make a difference if you explain how important Brexit is to us all. We need to get Get Britain Out with the Best Brexit for the United Kingdom, free of the shackles of the European Union as we build our future on the world stage.
Meeting with your MPs and letters through the post, or delivered to their Constituency offices, will be much more effective than e-mails – although you can send e-mails as well if you have time (you must include your name and address, or they will bin them). If you do not regularly contact your MPs, how can they be aware of how strongly you feel?
We have drafted you another letter (see the link below) to send or deliver to your local MP’s Constituency office (with the correct postage please). Please encourage your MPs to vote against the Prime Minister’s Brexit Deal on January 15th next year. It is important for you to explain they must get behind a REAL Brexit Deal for the United Kingdom.
Here is a link to a sample letter here, and don’t forget to add in some personal thoughts too!
If you use the magnifying glass search option in the top right-hand side of the document, you can search for and immediately find your MP’s name or constituency.
You can find out who your local MP is and their Constituency office address here. You can call to arrange a surgery appointment, and take family members and friends along with you too – the more the Brexmas-merrier! We also recommend you contact your local Conservative Association. Many Associations Chairs are equally as frustrated as we are, so it is worthwhile telling them your views as well.
If you do not know if your MP is a Leave or a Remain supporter, you will be able to find out from our comprehensive chart, which also indicates how your MP has voted during the EU Referendum Bill votes here.
Good luck. This is really important, and please let us know you get on – e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
Remember, your MP should NEVER too busy to address a constituent’s concerns – you voted them in in the first place! You and Get Britain Out can help to save Brexit just in the nick of time!
IT IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN EVER TO ENSURE YOUR VOICE IS HEARD!
The Brexit Vote was the most important vote of a lifetime. The Government were given the biggest mandate for Leave of any vote in any General Election, and this is the most important issue since the end of the last World War! The result of the EU Referendum MUST be honoured – and enforced. We must not be betrayed!
It’s now only 98 days until we take back control and regain our independence!!! YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE BY CONTACTING YOUR MP.

Get Britain Out will keep on fighting for the Best Brexit for the United Kingdom, so we can take back control of our laws, borders, trade and money.
May we wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and an EU-free Happy New Year as soon as possible.
