World Intellectual Property Day, More Deranged Democrats, Free Speech on College Campuses, and Our Lost Declaration

Today is World Intellectual Property Day and we hope you’ll celebrate by watching our documentary, Invalidated: The Shredding of the United States Patent System. This week, the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments over the 2020 Census question asking whether households are citizens or not. Tea Party Patriots Action Honorary Chairman Jenny Beth Martin wrote:

“For more than a hundred years, the decennial Census included a citizenship question, and no one objected. Asking citizenship status is a perfectly reasonable question. The Supreme Court should rule in favor of the Trump Administration’s move to restore the citizenship question to the 2020 Census.”

We also saw town halls for 2020 Democratic Presidential candidates this week and had the chance to hear some of the radical policies many of the contenders are pushing. The policies ranged from Medicare-for-All to gun control.

 

Amy Klobuchar discussed the so-called “equal pay act” and socialized medicine—both of which eliminate choice and create detrimental one-size-fits-all models. Elizabeth Warren wants to grant “free” college tuition to students and forgive billions of dollars in student loan debt – and she wants you to pay for it. Bernie Sanders discussed… wait for it… Medicare-for-All as well as repealing the tax cuts that have helped a majority of Americans.  Kamala Harris was vocal about gun control and impeaching President Trump for… who knows? Pete Buttigieg advocated for sanctuary cities, a more “progressive” tax code, and eliminating the electoral college. Here are some more highlights from Monday:

Free Speech is under attack! Jenny Beth Martin signed a coalition letter calling for public universities that violate the First Amendment to lose eligibility for federal student loans and grants and urging private colleges to make all speech and association policies transparent. More than 100 professors, scholars, writers, and representatives of civic and academic organizations have signed in the name of free speech.
