Angela Eagle Turns the Airwaves Blue
New Shadow First Secretary of State and Business Angela Eagle was not pleased when Andrew Niall pushed her for an opinion on the new OECD rules this afternoon:
“Andrew, just before you ask the other question, you don’t get any bullsh*t from me. I will have an opinion when I’ve had a read of it”
Is the new job getting to her already?

7 Policies Corbyn Has Sold Out On
Corbyn has only been leader for two weeks and already he is selling out. These are the left-wing positions he has been forced to abandon already:
BBC Helps Plug Big Solar
Listeners to the Today programme this morning were treated to the chair of the “Carbon Tracker Initiative” Jeremy Leggett “slamming the meagre investment in renewable energy being made by energy companies. Apparently if they don’t do more, there will be starvation, droughts, floods and other “horrors”…
“They’re [the big oil companies] setting up of a study to find out whether you know, we can have 50% renewable in the electricity mix by 2050. Well, you know, that’s completely inadequate. That will give us a world of four degree Celsius, way above the danger ceiling of two degree Celsius for global warming. A world in which you know, we’d be finding it difficult to feed ourselves or have enough drinking water amid all the droughts and floods and wildfires and all the other horrors.”
Oddly, what James Naughtie failed to mention is that Jeremy Leggett is the founder and non-executive chairman of Solarcentury, one of the UK’s largest solar companies. Some sunlight should have been shone on his vested interest…

The Corbynistas want us to believe that their friends in Daesh are lovable peace-loving folk.
Corbyn Shares Platform With Another Conspiracy Theorist

Jeremy Corbyn was the star of the show at the Labour Friends of Palestine fringe last night. Speaking on the panel was Husam Zomlot, a former PLO ambassador to Britain. Zomlot has some rather eccentric views, to put it kindly, judging by this BBC interview from last year:
“[Israel] are fabricating all these stories about beheading journalists [James Foley] somewhere in Iraq… they are fabricating also the story of the Holocaust…”
What is it about Labour’s Hamas and Hezbollah-friendly leader that attracts these fringe conspiracy theorists to conference? Perhaps Jezza just wanted a “dialogue”…

GCHQ Failed to “Sway” Judges
GCHQ consider the judiciary rather than political and parliamentary oversight as the “main issue” they have to face when it comes to following the law according to a recently leaked internal slide show. In an indictment of the political class, GCHQ notes that judges are not “swayed by personal contact”.
“Senior High Court judges they are INDEPENDENT, non govt and not openly swayed by personal contact”
Worryingly, the inference is that politicians can be swayed by personal contact. What exactly do the spooks mean by “personal contact”?

GMB’s IRA Blooper
Guido was browsing through the GMB unions’ press release about their Acting Secretary Gary Smith’s speech at the Labour Party Conference when he spotted an entertaining mistake in the copy. It refers to the RIPA act as “PIRA”…

Nandy Backtracks on Energy Nationalisation
Labour’s Shadow Energy Secretary and rising star Lisa Nandy has today distanced herself from Jeremy Corbyn’s calls to take the big six energy firms into public ownership. Speaking today, Nandy said that:
Jeremy and I don’t want to nationalize energy…we want to democratize it…There should be nothing to stop every community in this country owning its own clean energy power station…generating power and heat for their own use.
In little over a month Labour’s gone from nationalising the big six to installing solar panels on school roofs. Are there any Corbynites that will stick to their guns?

Rudd Hands Over £5.8 Billion Climate Guilt Money
The UK have announced to the UN’s General Assembly in New York that British taxpayers will hand out £5.8 billion to help “the most vulnerable countries protect themselves from the effects of climate change”. According to Amber Rudd, giving away billions will protect our “economic prosperity” and will stop the developing world from being forced to burn coal and oil:
“Climate change is one of the most serious threats we face, not just to the environment, but to our economic prosperity, poverty eradication and global security, hitting developing countries the hardest. To ensure a more secure and prosperous future for us all, the UK is playing its part by helping some of the most vulnerable communities become more resilient to climate change and by supporting the developing world to take the clean energy path to growth and prosperity rather than the high carbon route”.
The government are also spinning that by funnelling the £5.8 billion into the International Climate Fund over the next six years they can protect against changes in the climate that could “lead people to sell their property or migrate.” The 40,000 Brits who die from the cold each year probably won’t be convinced…

Blanchflower Gets It Wrong Again
Guido readers will be greatly tickled to learn that David Blanchflower (above right), he of the hapless economic forecasts, has been appointed to Corbyn’s new team of economic advisers. Yet derpy David hasn’t always been a fan of Jezza…
Earlier this month, Blanchflower successfully secured an apology from the BBC for saying he supported Corbyn, insisting: “I made clear I wasn’t backing Corbynomics”.
Fed up with people accusing him of backing Jezza, Blanchflower spelled it out in City AM: “I am not a Corbyn supporter and don’t share many of his views”.
He said he was opposed to Corbyn’s flagship economic policy of ‘People’s QE’.
And he even described claims he supports Corbyn as “ridiculous”.
“How much clearer can I be”, moaned Blanchflower when he was accused of being “pro-Corbyn”.
Weeks later Jeremy Corbyn announces his new economics adviser: David Blanchflower.Guido knows David has had trouble predicting the future before, though surely he should have seen this one coming?

Corbynista kissed by Corbyn – maybe a bike ride next if she can just work in some other slur from this week’s top ten – the fields in Eastern Germany are great at this time of year and you can meet lots of economic migrants
Tories Demand Corbyn Apologises For “Gas Chamber” Hug
Day two of Labour conference and justice minister Dominic Raab is demanding an apology from Corbyn over his “gas chamber” hug:
“It is delusional, and shows extraordinarily bad taste, for Labour conference to applaud a delegate who equated the government’s common sense human rights reforms to Nazis sending innocent people to the gas chambers. Jeremy Corbyn should apologise immediately for embracing rather than distancing himself from the delegate. It points directly to his unfitness to lead.”
Just 48 hours to go…
