Three quarters of the UK’s tech scale-up businesses are confident Brexit won’t hurt them

  • Smith & Williamson has conducted the largest ever sentiment study of the UK’s scale-up business community: Dream bigger: The scale-up moment
  • Just 10 months before Brexit, 90% of high-growth technology businesses are planning to take on more staff
  • Scale-up businesses in tech space are also optimistic about other areas of government policy agenda, with one in three (30%) believing they stand to benefit from the recent Apprenticeship Levy and just 10% critical of it

Almost half (45%) of the tech scale-up businesses in the UK believe that the Government’s approach to Brexit and international trade will have no impact on them, while 30% think they stand to benefit, according to a new report: Dream bigger: The scale-up moment, from Smith & Williamson, the accountancy, tax and investment management group.

Steve Jurczyk Appointed NASA Associate Administrator; Krista Paquin Retires; Melanie W. Saunders Named Acting Deputy Associate Administrator

NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine has named Steve Jurczyk as associate administrator, the agency’s highest-ranking civil servant position. Jurczyk has been serving in the position in an acting capacity since March 10. In addition, Deputy Associate Administrator Krista Paquin will retire from NASA at the end of May. Melanie W. Saunders has been assigned as the acting deputy associate administrator, effective June 10.
