Is there anything good about the European Parliament?

A growing number of people have been asking if there is anything good about the European Parliament. This hugely expensive talking shop leads its itinerant live with its caravan traveling back and forth between Brussels and Strasbourg but its main function appears to be to rubber stamp edicts from the Eurocrats in Brussels to provide a thin and cracked veneer of democracy. Its secondary objective appears to be the spreading of corruption across the States that make up the European Union by providing an environment that encourages MEPs to dig deeply and dishonestly into a lavish culture of ‘expenses’ for their personal enrichment.
